Feathers!
During the summer I had a chance to work with feathers for 2 weddings. It was a fun little challenge to incorporate feathers into the arrangements, add they added a really neat dimension

Beautiful Tributes
It is an honor to work with families and make flowers for funerals. It is a great way for me to help them pay tribute to those they have lost. I love to personalize the arrangements any way I can. I like to add things from the hobbies they love and make the arrangements tell who they are and what that person loved to do.

This arrangement was for my husband's uncle who did a lot of masonry work, so I found masonry tools to add to the arrangment. It really added the personal touch to the flowers and brought back many sweet memories.

This funeral was a lot of fun to work on because I got to use lots of creativity. The great man who passed away owned an A&W Rootbeer restuarant for many years. I thought it would be fun to make a mug full of rootbeer out of flowers. It turned out better than I had imagined and was a great surprise for the family.

For this dear woman who passed away she loved butterflies, so I was able to find some beautiful butterflies to personalize her casket spray.

Lots of Green!
In May I had a weekend of green! The two weddings I was working on were both green. The centerpieces turned out nice and I'm sad I wasn't able to get a picture of them on the tables, but I had to run to my nephews wedding.
The D was a fun project and it turned out really nice. They were hanging it on the front door of the house where the reception was taking place.

New Ideas
I had a chance to go to a workshop with a friend of mine who also is a florist to learn some new corsage styles. We had a lot of fun and it was really neat seeing some of the new innovative styles that are out there.

One of the new styles are decorative wristbands for corsages. There are many different styles to choose from. These do cost more, but some of them are meant to be used more than once. You can wear it to the dance or whatever occasion and then take the flowers off and wear the bracelet again.
Catch up
The past couple of months have been very busy and I have lots of catching up to do. I have had so many wonderful brides I have worked with over the past couple of months. Its fun to work with each bride and help bring her dream wedding to life. Its really neat to see the different ideas they have to make their wedding unique.
